Cllrs Harry Grayson, Ken Moss and Clare Cleary will be holding another public surgery at Rishton Library from 10.00am until 12.00pm on Saturday 17th September. A previous surgery in June was very well attended and the Rishton councillors are keen to improve interaction between HBC and the public but many residents are still unclear about the political setup within Hyndburn and how their councillors work for them.
Three councillors represent Rishton in the Hyndburn Council chamber out of a total of 35 councillors from all wards across the borough, with 18 Labour, 14 Conservative and 3 Independent. Rishton County Councillor Miles Parkinson has now replaced Peter Britcliffe as Leader of the Council and Graham Jones is MP for Hyndburn.
The Rishton councillors want to work hard for you and make the village a better place in whatever way we can. We would rather be honest and realistic rather than make wild promises of what we can do for you in the future. Councillors are not here to simply ask for your vote when elections draw near, we are here to listen to residents when they have a problem, report faults, help people solve small issues in day-to-day life and keep the public informed of what we are working on. We want to improve Rishton so please let us know when you have a problem.
Harry Grayson and Ken Moss have been a stronger voice for Rishton working as a partnership and are delighted to have become a team with the election of Clare Cleary. We work better together than as individuals and meet several times a week to resolve village problems but we can only deal with issues that we know about so we would like to invite you to our surgery at Rishton Library on Saturday 17th September and let us know how we can help you.
If you cannot attend the surgery but would like to talk to us then please feel free to get in touch.
