RISHTON UPDATE - 9th MAY 2011

The past few days since the local election have seen many meetings of the Labour councillors to discuss reorganisation within the council, with Cllr Clare Cleary having immediately been appointed Chief Whip due to her experience in personnel management. Clare has also been quoted in the Lancashire Telegraph following her victory:

Labour seize control of Hyndburn Council

Cllr Ken Moss takes up position of Chair of Resources Overview and Scrutiny, the committee responsible for looking at all of the council's spending across the borough to see if it is merited or can be made more efficient.  Recommendations are then submitted to Cabinet for a final decision.

Further committee appointments for the three Rishton councillors will be announced later this week following the Labour group AGM.
