NORDEN COURT ISSUES

Several issues have been brought to the attention of Cllr Harry Grayson, Cllr Ken Moss and Clare Cleary whilst canvassing residents living at Norden Court.  Inconsiderate parking by non-residents is causing severe problems for doctors and ambulances responding to urgent calls at the complex as they are finding entranceways blocked by other cars and are unable to park close to the flats.  Drivers are requested not to park on the Norden Court grounds in future and an e-mail has been sent to Lancashire County Council to paint double yellow lines along the length of the driveway and mark out a specific doctor's parking space on the flags in the courtyard.

Other problems are being caused by overgrown shrubbery as youths have started hiding in the greenery and jumping out at residents to try and shock them as they leave their homes.  This is causing some residents great distress as the majority are retired and infirm and a request has been sent to the Parks and Open Spaces department at Hyndburn Borough Council to maintain the shrubs at a low height.

A fenced-off area of Norden Court adjacent to the old Bentley garage has also been broken into and is being used as a dumping area for household waste.  This has been reported to the Cleansing department for clearance and the owners of the garage will be informed to make the area secure.
