The Rishton Labour team have been canvassing ahead of the local elections on May 5th to decide who becomes the third councillor for the village. Cllrs Harry Grayson and Ken Moss are endorsing Clare Cleary as candidate due to her work with Rishton community groups and she is also being helped on the campaign by her husband Danny (pictured right).
Over half of Rishton has now had a knock at the door, with information cards being delivered to those who have been out when one of the team have called. If you would like to find out more about Clare and why she wants to become a councillor then she can be contacted on 01254 605099 or 07794249265.
Councillors are elected for a four year term, with Harry Grayson incumbent until 2012 and Ken Moss in office until 2014. The current third councillor is Conservative party member Stan Horne who is up for election again this May.
