Following a request from Cllr Ken Moss, a new waste bin has been installed by the grocers shop on Spring Street. The area has always had a litter problem and this is not helped by a lack of waste disposal facilities but Hyndburn Council agreed to place a bin at the corner of Danvers Street at no cost to Rishton Area Council. Our resident street caretaker is also on litter-picking duty an extra half-day a fortnight along this stretch of road to try and keep the area tidy.
