Anthony Faulkes, of Sands Road Rishton, was convicted of a second offence of failing to comply with a notice served in 2014 by the Council, requiring him to carry out remedial work to his long term derelict empty property at 58 Spring St Rishton.
Cabinet Member for Housing, Cllr Clare Cleary, said; “This is the second time Mr Faulkes has been prosecuted by the court for failing to bring this property into a state of repair. This property is in a dilapidated state and residents living nearby have had to endure years of issues associated with it, including leaking roofs, boarded windows and burst water pipes. Enforcement officers have been in touch with Mr Faulkes on many occasions asking him to get the work done, but he has failed to do so and so we’ve had no option but to take him to court, where he’s been ordered to pay almost £1800 in fines and costs, in addition to his original fine of £1300.”
