CUTWOOD PARK GREEN FLAG JUDGING 2015

Cutwood Park has once again been entered into the Green Flag Awards by residents voting for their favourite park. Judges came to Cutwood on 15th May and spent time inspecting the facilities, state of the grounds and wildlife to come to their decision, which will be published in June.

The park is very well used and two school parties were working in the woods during the judging session, including a group from Rishton Parish Church Pre-School which is based at St Peter & St Paul's Church and works with The Copperhouse for their Forest School sessions..

Cabinet member for Parks, Cllr Ken Moss, said, "You only need to take the briefest stroll through the wood to see a wide variety of flowers and wildlife. Community groups have worked on areas to provide new nesting boxes for birds and squirrels and there are also fantastic views across the reservoir. There are always improvements we can make but on the whole the Council maintain Cutwood to a good standard for all Rishton residents to enjoy. We're very proud of it."
