RISHTON CANAL CONSULTATION - 25th MARCH 2015

A second consultation exercise regarding proposed development of the Rishton canalside is taking place on Wednesday 25th March from 1.00pm until 8.00pm.

A previous consultation on 23rd February resulted in over 60 responses and Councillors have met with representatives from Barton Willmore who are drawing up the plans in order to move forward.

Cllr Clare Cleary is leading on this and said, "So far we have had a good deal of interest from the public and some of the comments have been very useful. Ideas have come forward ranging from a supermarket to a marina! One of the things which all three Councillors are firmly against is more social housing and we will not be allowing that to happen on any new development."
