REPTILE AMNESTY WEEKEND - 28th & 29th MARCH 2015

A Reptile Amnesty Weekend will be taking place at Reptile Wonderland on High Street over the weekend of 28th and 29th March 2015. The amnesty has come about due to several snakes seemingly being abandoned on public land recently and three local pet shops are working together to prevent this happening again.

Owner of Reptile Wonderland, David McGlynn, said, "We will open Saturday 28th March from 10.30am until 7.30pm and Sunday 29th from 11.00am until 4.00pm. There will be no selling of live animals on these two days, we will only be selling hard goods, livefood and frozen food at Reptile Wonderland. A buffet will be provided over the whole weekend."

He added, "You will be able to bring in any reptiles on a 'no questions asked' basis. If anyone would like to re-home anything that possibly will come in by either fostering or adopting please pop into the shop and have a chat with us before the amnesty weekend."

The shop will be holding a raffle for an 8ft vivarium with accessories. Tickets are on sale at £1.00 a ticket and these can be purchased from Reptile Wonderland, Robertson's Reef and Reptiles and Venom Reptiles. All money will go to charity.

Other shops taking part in the amnesty are:
  • Robertson's Reef and Reptiles, 13 Whalley Road, Accrington, BB5 1AD
  • Venom Reptiles, 34 Burnley Road East, Waterfoot, Rossendale, BB4 9AG.
