VANDALISM TO WING MIRRORS

A series of attacks on car wing mirrors has taken place and the Rishton Councillors would like to appeal for any information on who is responsible.

One resident said, "I hear there have been 2 or 3 done on Norfolk Street in past weeks and both mine and a neighbour's have been vandalised on the top block of Haworth Street this week. Mine was done last night at 9.00pm and we saw 2 youths running down towards Walmsley Street, one holding his hand. The police were called and responded quickly but the mirror will cost me over £100 to replace as it's heated so I would be very grateful for any support in catching the culprits or any info that anyone could give."

Cllr Clare Cleary said, "We get a spate of this every so often and it is usually mindless vandalism by one or two individuals but it has repercussions for the victims. It involves taking time out to get the problem repaired and this usually costs quite a bit of money even with insurance. I would urge anyone with any information to come forward or ring the police on 101 to get it logged."
