Cllr Clare Cleary said, "We were initially so disheartened that someone could have done this that we were dubious about putting another pole up. However, on reflection we have decided that it is unfair to let the mindless yobs win again and so a new flagpole will be installed ready for Lancashire Day on 27th November."
Cllr Ken Moss said, "The pole will be of a different construction to the last one and is more resistant to vandalism. The price is £620 and will be coming out of the remaining Rishton Area Council budget so residents are urged to come forward with any details of vandalism anywhere in Rishton to prevent future costs like this."
