A new fruit and vegetables shop has opened on High Street, completing the regeneration of a row of properties which had been empty for some time. Baileys Fruit and Veg opened on Wednesday 11th December 2013 to an enthusiastic response from residents.
Kieron Bailey is the proprietor and has recently decided to start up his own business. His wife Angela also helps to run the shop and said, "Rishton did not have a greengrocer and we saw a niche in the market. Although there are other places to buy fruit and veg it is a long way for people over the bridge so we are aiming to cater for the elderly and parents on the school run too. We have already had good feedback and business has been steady since the doors opened. We're very pleased with how people have responded."
Christmas orders are now being taken and fruit boxes can be made up on request. A Facebook page is expected to be up and running soon and Kieron can be contacted on 07920091727.
