9 NEW RISHTON DOG WASTE BINS APPROVED

Following a review by the Rishton Councillors, a total of 9 new dog waste bins will be installed around the village. The bins cost £136 each and are being paid for out of Rishton Area Council money. In order to keep costs down, the bins will only be installed on grassed areas that are owned by HBC which limits the areas in which new bins can be erected. Installation on hard standing pavements would cost considerably more and lamp-mounted bins are no longer permitted by LCC.

Bins will be erected near the following locations around Rishton:

  • The junction of Cliff Street and Bridge Street
  • The Esplanade
  • The junction of Spring Street and Bridgefield Close
  • The junction of Parker Street and Oswald Street
  • Tottleworth Road, approximately halfway along
  • The junction of Walmsley Street and Albert Street
  • The junction of Petre Crescent and Maple Crescent
  • Meadowhead Drive
  • The junction of Blackburn Road and Thornhill Avenue
