The Rishton Award for 2013 has been presented to Christine Hammerton for her tireless work around the village. Christine is one of the main organisers of the Rishton Festival (among many other things) and the award was presented to her in front of an enthusiastic crowd on 6th July 2013 by Cllr Ken Moss.
The annual award is presented by Rishton Area Council to a member of the public who has given a lot of their time to making Rishton a better place for everyone to live in. Nominations for the 2014 award can be submitted to any of the Rishton Councillors.
