Several events are taking place this weekend at Rishton Free Gardeners Club on Parker Street. First up is the final of the snooker league and this will be hosted by the club on Wednesday night from 8.00pm. This is open to non-members as well as members and free supper will be laid on for guests and spectators.
Festival Bingo on Saturday 1st June at 2.00pm to raise money for this year's Rishton Festival on 6th July. Festival Bingo is usually held at The People's Centre each month but most of the committee are unavailable to make half-time refreshments so Cllrs Clare Cleary and Ken Moss will be hosting the games and the bar will be open at the Free Gardeners Club instead. Entry is £5 for six games of bingo and Christine Hammerton's fresh cream cakes will still be available at 50p each!
Later that evening, Ken Moss will be back to host the monthly Free Gardeners Games Night which comprises more games of bingo, a quiz, dominoes and Play Your Cards Right. Games Night starts at 8.00pm and is also open to non-members. Entry to each game costs £1 per person.
The new range of bottled real ales is also selling well and this week's selection includes Adnams Sole Star (2.7%), Thwaites Original Bitter (3.6%), Banks Bitter (3.8%) and Marstons Burton Bitter (3.8%), all priced at £2.00 each.
