Rishton Area Council would like to wish all residents a happy Lancashire Day and the Lancashire flag will be erected at Parker Street corner and flown permanently as of today. The decision was taken by the Rishton Councillors to keep the county flag displayed until the Rishton crest flag is ready. A small technical fault in the flagpole was discovered on Monday 26th November but an HBC engineer arrived at 8am this morning to try to fix this.
A special Rishton exhibition is being held in the Library on Thursday 29th November this week to mark the occasion and will contain old photos and cine footage of the village, including the Queen's visit to Rishton in 1968!
