RISHTON SURGERY - 28th MAY 2011

Cllrs Harry Grayson, Ken Moss and Clare Cleary held their first surgery as a team on Saturday 28th May and several local issues have now been noted and will be addressed in due course:
  • George Street - unsightly back yard filled with rubbish
  • Harwood Road - dumping at old Westwood Garage
  • Lord Street - littering in back alleyway
  • Grasmere Close - incorrect polling details
  • Blackburn Road - lights out on War Memorial
Other comments were raised about littering seemingly generated from lunchtime customers at the chip shop on Brook Street and concerns regarding horse riders along St Albans Road.  Speeding cars are causing continuing complaints from residents on Sussex Road and also the Spring Street area, plus ideas were submitted as to how the old playground adjacent to the Methodist Church on Albert Street could be brought back into use.

Further surgeries are intended on a monthly basis from July onwards and thanks are due to the library staff for their hospitality.
