RISHTON ISSUES - 25th APRIL 2011

As the run up to the Rishton local election enters the final ten days, more issues are being logged by Clare Cleary, Harry Grayson and Ken Moss as they canvass the village:
  • Bridge Street - flytipping in back yard of empty house
  • Bridge Street - furniture in need of removal
  • Shuttleworth Street - flytipping in back yard of empty house
  • Devonshire Road - Incorrect polling details on voting card
  • Devonshire Road - overgrown bushes at Piggy Park
Further to the meeting of the Hyndburn Council Cabinet last week, all proposals put to the Leader of the Council for Rishton by Cllrs Harry Grayson and Ken Moss were rejected.  A pelican crossing at Eachill junction and a public toilet were discounted entirely and the recommendation that the astroturf at Norden High School should be better maintained was not brought up for discussion.
