RISHTON HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENTS

Following a series of walkabouts over the past 18 months, Cllrs Harry Grayson, Ken Moss and resident Clare Cleary have been lobbying County Cllr Miles Parkinson for improvements to sections of roadway which have been damaged by the two recent harsh winters.  Lancashire County Council are making improvements to Cliff Street and Bridge Street over the course of a week and work began on Monday 4th April.  Residents are asked not to park on the sections which are being worked on between 8.00am and 4.00pm.

Certain street signs are also being updated following complaints from residents that they are not informative enough or have simply become too old to read clearly.  If you know of a sign that is in need of replacement then please get in touch with Harry Grayson on 01254 889438, Ken Moss on 01254 882797 or Miles Parkinson on 01254 301687.
The Rishton Labour team are continuing to canvass ahead of the forthcoming local election on May 5th in order to promote Clare Cleary as the preferred choice for the third village councillor.  Over two thirds of Rishton has now had a knock at the door and a second canvass is expected for those who were out when Clare originally called.  For more information or to speak to Clare please call 01254 605099.
