RISHTON FESTIVAL 2010

Saturday 10th July saw the Rishton Festival and the village was blessed with good weather for the entire day.  Graham Jones MP opened the event which was well attended and had plenty to see and do for all the family, including tombolas, children's activities and a cake stall.

Prospects had a stall dedicated to early 20th century children's games while Colin Cooper oversaw the coconut shy.

Pat Sanderson was selling plants, flowers and hanging baskets on the Rishton Horticultural Society stall while Lesley Jackson ran one of the raffles.  Rishton Utd were also in attendance holding penalty shoot outs.
The festival started at 10.30am with a parade from George Street which made its way through the centre of the village and along Cliff Street to Norden High School, where headmaster Bob Flood was present throughout the day. Entertainment included a brass band and tai chi demonstrations but there were also massages available, face painting and a boat race!
