HBC FUNERALS ARE THE CHEAPEST IN LANCASHIRE

Hyndburn Borough Council now offer the cheapest funeral service in Lancashire at £645 for a cremation. In contrast, Blackburn with Darwen currently charge £675 and Burnley charge £672 although it is not currently known if their prices will rise this year.

Cllr Ken Moss, Cabinet Member for Cemeteries and Crematoria, said, "I am proud to say that Hyndburn Council charges less for cremations than any other crematorium in Lancashire and we're investing all the time to provide a better service for grieving families."

He added, "We are complimented regularly on how well we maintain the cemeteries and crematoriums and our dog warden has reduced the number of fouling incidents considerably. In addition, Accrington Cemetery is one of only 18 cemeteries in the North West of England to achieve Green Flag status. The new webcasting service has also been particularly well received and has allowed friends and relatives unable to attend in person to view ceremonies from wherever they are in the world."

A brand new cemetery, the first one ever in Rishton, will be opened later this year.
