CAR PARK WALL AT SCHOOL STREET

Despite numerous repair to the coping stones over the years, the car park wall at School Street is subject to continuous vandalism and this has now been addressed by the Rishton Councillors.

Cllr Ken Moss said, "Replacing the coping stones is absolutely pointless as the original York stone has been replaced with cheap pressed pimple concrete slabs and they have still be stolen and destroyed over time. The three of us have had a discussion and looked at all the options but the most cost-effective route is to leave the wall as it is, remove the coping flags which are left and fill in the top with concrete."

Repairs will take place as soon as possible.
