WASTE COLLECTION AT ST CHARLES ROAD

Changes have been made to the waste collections along St Charles Road which have led to residents having to leave their household rubbish out in special orange bags. The back alley is unadopted along much of the street and the ruts are now so deep that bins have to be physically lifted onto the collection wagons which has led to the change of collection.

The Rishton Councillors have looked into the problem and Cllr Clare Cleary will be writing to affected residents with a solution.

She said, "By wheeling the bins to either end of the alleyway the wagon crews will be able to collect and hook them on to the backs as with other streets. Hopefully, this will be acceptable to residents."
