ILLEGAL WASTE COLLECTORS IN RISHTON

A recent spate of flytipping has coincided with men knocking at doors in Rishton offering their services as a waste removal firm. The men, usually accompanied by a dog, offer to get rid of rubbish for a small fee.

Local police officers are aware of the men and they have been issued with a warning that what they are doing is illegal but that if they are caught hawking again without a licence then they will be prosecuted.

All residents are advised that anyone who is trading as a waste removal service must have a waste carrier's licence or you will be responsible for where the rubbish ends up.
