Cllrs Clare Cleary and Ken Moss meet regularly with PC Clare Wall and PCSO Jennifer Kenyon regarding police issues in Rishton and have requested an update each month that can be passed on to residents.
In July 2015, there were 75 fewer reported crimes (204) than the same time a year earlier (279) with considerable drops in auto crimes, burglaries and anti-social behaviour. Following a number of motorbike seizures, the number of complaints regarding nuisance dropped to 0 since June.

- 3 youths put on Antisocial Behaviour Contracts
- Dog thefts from back yards
- Cannabis factory discovered on Bridge Street
- Youths swimming at the waterfall by the old paper mill
- Illegal waste collectors cold calling door-to-door
