RISHTON VOTING STATISTICS

Information has been requested by the Rishton Councillors regarding the number of people who vote in elections and the figures can be seen in the table above.

Cllr Ken Moss said, "Rishton had the highest percentage of voters in Hyndburn at the last General Election in 2010 but unfortunately, as is the case across the country, voter numbers are still falling. There was a small spike last year in Rishton but on the whole there are more non-voters than ever before."

He added, "Despite regular public statements and news stories about what the local Councillors are up to there is still the perception that elected members are only seen at election time.
