Cllr Clare Cleary has organised several film events to tie in with the Pennine Film Festival as part of her Cabinet role to promote Accrington Town Centre.
March 13th and 14th saw screenings of
The Exorcist in the newly-refurbished Ballroom at Accrington Town Hall and a free open air showing of the 1984 classic
Ghostbusters, both of which were well-attended. Two fans even showed up wearing full size exact replicas of the Ghostbuster outfits, complete with proton packs which they had built themselves from scratch and were very impressive.
Despite a cold evening, people came from across Hyndburn to watch the film and hot refreshments were available to keep off the chill.
Get Carter will be shown at the Town Hall on Tuesday 17th March from 7.00pm and tickets cost £5 each which includes a Q&A session with the director, Mike Hodges. Please call 01254 380293 for availability.
