The Christmas tree at Rishton Library has been vandalised once again, leaving it with a sizeable gap in foliage which is too noticeable to be disguised.
Cllr Ken Moss said, "We've had reports of who has this and will be checking the CCTV today. Branches and foliage have been found all over the grassed area at the clinic and the tree is now no longer acceptable as a permanent decoration. We now have one week to replace it before the switch on and have to find the money from somewhere. Please, please come forward if you know who is responsible for the damage."
The tree has grown visibly since it was planted last year but any damage is permanent as fir trees do not regenerate lost branches.
