A further load of flytipping has been cleared from Bridge Street and this time it would appear that the culprit has been identified from remains within the bin bags.
Cllr Ken Moss, who lives directly behind, said, "This alleyway is a magnet for flytipping because the rental turnover is so high. I don't quite know how people manage to generate these colossal amounts of waste in such a short time but it shows a lack of respect for their new surroundings that new tenants are happy to dump it in the back alleys."
He added, "As an authority, we provide excellent free waste collection services, all people have to do is phone up and ask. The number of people who simply clear out and tip is astonishing. If that's going to be your level of respect then please don't move to Rishton, nobody wants that sort of cavalier attitude from new neighbours round here."
