CAUTION URGED AT SPRING STREET CORNER

Serious concerns have been raised by residents regarding the junction of Spring Street and Danvers Street following a series on near-misses involving children playing in the road.

Cllr Ken Moss said, "This has always been a problem spot but seems to have got worse recently with more and more kids playing chicken with cars and simply not moving out of the way until the last moment. There are also plenty of young bike riders without any sort of lights or reflectors who wear dark clothing and ride up the middle of the street with no regard for cars. I would urge parents to have a stern word with their kids that the road is not a playground."
