The Lancashire flag is now being flown at Parker Street corner and at the Cenotaph in order to mark Lancashire Day on 27th November. The Rishton Councillors took the decision to fly the flags each year in 2012 and the emblem will be in place for six months until St George's Day, upon which the England flag will be flown for the other six months.
Several local historians including Paul Wilkinson and Janis Counsell have also got together once again to host a second annual history event at the Library to mark the occasion.
Paul said, "This Thursday, the 28th November, Rishton will be celebrating Lancashire Day in our Library. Why not pop in and join us for slide shows, find out about Lancashire day, and try some traditional Lancashire Fayre! The event is open from 9.30am till closing time."
