The continuing spate of flytipping in the back alleys surrounding Livesey Street has prompted direct intervention from the Deputy Leader of HBC, Cllr Clare Pritchard. The flytipping is occurring regularly and has been reported by Councillors and residents to the HBC cleansing department but it is not only unsightly but is also an increasing expense to the taxpayer in removal costs.
Cllr Pritchard said, "It's come to my attention that some more bin bags have been dumped in this back alley. This has been going on now for about three months and I'm sick of reporting and dealing with it. We are in the process of finding out who this anti-social person is who is dumping them and we will be prosecuting. HBC offer a free bulky waste collection service and the Council are taking a hard line on those who are abusing the system."
