YORK STONE FLAG THEFTS

York paving stones and other flags are being stolen across Rishton and the surrounding areas and residents are advised to be aware that this activity is going on. There are very few York paved streets left in Rishton and most have now had their remaining flags lifted, with only Bridge Street remaining untouched.

Several reports have come through about a van full of used flags that has been seen in the Cliff Street/Bridge Street/Spring Street area and this information has now been passed on to the local police. Residents are urged to phone 101 with the registration number of any van they see conducting suspicious activities.
