£1,000 OFFERED FOR RETURN OF LAPTOP

A man from Windermere Drive has appealed to the people of Rishton for help after his silver and black Acer laptop was stolen from the boot of his car. Scott Mason contacted the police and the Rishton Councillors after discovering the theft, which took place during the early hours on Friday 27th September.

He said, "It was a silly mistake to leave it in the car but I just want it back as it contains many photos of my family which are irreplaceable. I'm offering £1,000 to anyone who returns the laptop to me. I'd be relieved even if the thieves themselves rolled up with it, I just want it back."

Cllr Ken Moss said, "The level of reward offered here speaks volumes about how much this must mean to Scott and his family. We've all left things in our cars that we really should have taken indoors but it doesn't excuse theft. Someone must know something, I just hope that whoever has taken it does the decent thing and hands it back."

There has been a spate of car-related thefts reported across Rishton recently and residents are urged to make sure that their vehicles are secure at all times.
