A full review of the dog waste bins in Rishton is currently underway and the Rishton Councillors have been asked where new bins are most needed. Cllr Harry Grayson has also made a detailed study using data sheets from HBC to see how well used each bin is and whether or not certain ones could be moved.
20 extra bins were requested across Rishton, with 9 already having been provisionally approved, although for cost reasons they need to be placed on HBC grass verges as opposed to hard standing pavements. Ongoing maintenance and emptying costs are also a factor as to why all 20 bins were not approved.
Certain areas of the Petre estate are particularly badly served and these are being looked at as a priority as no grass verges are available in the desired locations. The full list will be published shortly once it is finalised.
