Cllr Clare Cleary said, "The bingo afternoons are a great way for us to raise money because it's easy for us to put on, Christine Hammerton is a wonderful baker and it really draws people together. The regular players look forward to it now and everyone has a good time, plus we seem to have a few new faces each month."
Regular monthly bingo sessions have been run for some time now and have contributed a substantial part of the money required to pay for the administration, insurances and other costs of setting up the Rishton Festival each year.
The cost is £5.00 for six games of bingo and £1.00 for a brew and a fresh cream cake at half time. All residents are welcome to come along and play.
