Rishton resident Hayley O'Donnell took over as landlady of The Walmsley Arms in December 2012 and has been steadily working at making changes and improvements following the departure of the well-respected previous incumbents, Alan and Carol Knott, after ten years.
A new homemade food menu is available daily, cooked by Hayley's brother-in-law Peter, and this will be added to and refined over the course of the summer. A new £5 curry-and-pint night is coming soon and will be advertised shortly on their noticeboards and Facebook page, which can be found here:

A total refurbishment of the pub is due imminently, with a brewery rep having drawn up plans this week. A new modern, neutral look will be implemented with double-glazing, an open fire, a lounge, a new games area and the removal of the raised areas to let in more light from the large front windows.
It is intended that a new games night will be run in the near future, alternating between bingo and a quiz each week. Pool night currently runs on Thursday and new members are welcome to apply.
Over the Spring Bank Holiday there will be a disco on the Friday night, Motown on Saturday and a live artist on Sunday. A disco, 90s night and a live band are already booked for the August Bank Holiday weekend.
