LED STREET LIGHTING

Lancashire County Council are trying to reduce their Carbon Footprint and this is being achieved by installing LED lanterns as replacements for sodium street lighting. Around 30 lights in Rishton have recently been reported as being lit all day and suitable for replacement. New lamps will shortly be installed on Coniston Way, Derwent Close, Grasmere Close, Ulverston Drive, Ullswater Close and Windermere Drive.

If anyone has any comments or queries regarding this scheme then please get in touch with Rishton County Councillor Miles Parkinson for further details.
