SUSAN SHAW FUNDRAISER - 3rd MARCH 2018

A fundraising event is being organised in aid of the family of Susan Shaw, a Rishton resident who was tragically killed in a hit-and-run incident on Boxing Day.

Susan, 47, was hit by a blue Vauxhall Corsa on High Street in Rishton at around 5.50pm on December 26th 2017. Damian Raeburn, 31, of Stanley Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty at Burnley Crown Court on Thursday to causing death by dangerous driving, driving without a licence or insurance. He was remanded in custody to be sentenced on February 21 and warned by the judge to expect a ‘very substantial’ jail sentence.

The fundraising fair will be held on Saturday 3rd March at Rishton Conservative Club on Cliff Street. There will be numerous stalls including owls, freshly-baked cakes, tombolas, Name The Bear, a prize raffle and more.

Doors open at 12.00pm until 3.00pm and all are welcome to come along.
