RISHTON AWARD 2012

The Rishton Award for 2012 has been given to Elaine Holden, Chair of The People's Centre, for her hard work over the past few years and her continuing commitment to the members and the community as a whole. The award and a cheque for £50 was officially presented on 1st November at The People's Centre by Cllr Ken Moss on behalf of Rishton Area Council.

Elaine said, 'It's nice to be presented with this award but I want to accept it on behalf of the whole People's Centre committee. We are a team and I would like it to recognise all their hard work too.'

The Rishton Award is presented annually to a resident who has given exceptional service to the community and nominations are now being accepted for the 2013 award. Please get in touch with any of the Rishton Councillors if you would like to put a name forward.
