HANOI CRIMES

There have been a spate of burglaries along the Esplanade and surrounding estate in a style known to the police as Hanoi crimes. Thieves from out of town target more affluent areas, check doors to see if they are unlocked, let themselves in and take wallets and car keys off hallway tables to steal cars off driveways. This problem is being made worse by residents who go out in the evening and leave curtains open, meaning that thieves can see into houses and identify items for stealing at a later date.

All residents across Rishton are urged to lock their doors even when they are at home.
