A complaint has been lodged with Cllrs Ken Moss and Harry Grayson regarding smashed asbestos at the old paper mill following break-ins by vandals. The shutter door had been forced and many windows were broken leading to dust and particles from the mill blowing onto the main road during windy weather.
Following an investigation by the Environmental department at Hyndburn Borough Council, the owners visited the site on 9th November to secure the entrances. Their intention is now to re-apply for planning permission to demolish the building and build a mixture of residential and business properties.
