THE TURRETS GARDEN

A recent visit to The Turrets public garden on Blackburn Road by the council officer responsible for trees highlighted that several are now unhealthy and will be removed in due course.  Cllr Ken Moss and representatives from the Rishton Prospects group were also present to discuss various replanting options and also the proposed removal of a tree which borders onto Holly House, a private residence adjacent to the garden.

Cllr Moss also discussed various objections to the incorrect placement of an iron gate some years ago on the opposite side which has effectively turned public land into private land.  It was agreed that this should be looked into by the council and representations will be made shortly.
