The next meeting of the Rishton Area Council will be held at St Charles School on Tuesday 9th November at 7.00pm. The council holds a public meeting three times per year and is an opportunity for residents to ask questions directly of the three ward councillors. Other scheduled items include updates on various village projects and an advice talk by police Inspector Andy Winter and Crimestoppers who will also take questions.
Cllrs Harry Grayson and Ken Moss have written a letter to everyone in Rishton inviting them to the meeting in an effort to get more residents involved in village life and create a better sense of community. The councillors (ably assisted by Clare Cleary and her husband Danny) are currently in the process of delivering the letters and every household should have had one within the next fortnight.
