HELP FOR HEROES

A Help For Heroes event was held at The People's Centre on Saturday 7th August to raise money for injured soldiers.  Tea and biscuits were available as well as other fundraising stalls including homemade cards, knitted scarves and a book sale.  A raffle was held in addition to a 'Name-the Teddy' competition.

Event organiser Wendy Singleton gave a speech thanking everyone for attending and giving a brief background of what the organisation does and how it came to be set up.  The event was expected to raise around £100 for the charity although the final figure was an impressive £487.24.
